Accuracy and Verification
All calculations, rebalancing models, whole-dollar roundings, and trade allocations are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranty of any kind, express or implied. While Rebalance strives for mathematical rigor, algorithms and manual data entry may produce errors, rounding differences, or unintended order sizes. You must independently verify all calculations, cash flows, and trade quantities with your registered brokerage prior to executing any transactions.
Tax Consequences & Capital Gains
Rebalancing actions—particularly selling overweight assets in Complete Rebalance mode—may trigger realized capital gains or taxable events under your local tax laws. Rebalance does not calculate tax liabilities, track cost bases, or provide tax advice. You are solely responsible for understanding the tax implications of any trades you execute. Consult a certified tax professional or CPA for advice regarding your specific tax obligations.
Zero-Knowledge Encryption & Key Custody
Rebalance operates on a client-side zero-knowledge security architecture. Your master password and encryption keys are never transmitted to or stored on our servers. Consequently, the operators of Rebalance cannot reset your password, decrypt your vault, or restore lost account data. If you lose both your master password and your Emergency Recovery Key, your encrypted data cannot be recovered. You are solely responsible for securely backing up your credentials and recovery keys.
Market Fluctuation & Trade Execution
Market prices change continuously. Trade calculations are based on the static values entered at the time of calculation and do not account for real-time market spreads, broker commissions, or price slippage that may occur between calculation and order execution.
